Effective 24 August 2026
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service apply from 24 August 2026.
1. About World100K
World100K is an independently developed and self-funded hobby project operated from the European Union. It provides a publicly accessible world map where people can explore tiles, create accounts, claim available tiles, add entries, and use social or interactive features made available by the project.
World100K is free to use. It does not sell land, property, ownership rights, financial products, or any other real-world interest. A tile, account, avatar, entry, or other feature has no guaranteed monetary value.
World100K is a general-audience project and is not specifically directed to children. It does not request a user's age as a condition of browsing the public map.
2. Using the project
These Terms apply when you create or access an account, claim a tile, upload an image, submit an entry, post a comment or chat message, or otherwise use an interactive World100K feature.
To create an account or use an interactive feature, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old or that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to do so.
Use World100K lawfully and do not interfere with the project, its security, other users, or the operation of its services. Features and limits shown in the interface form part of how the project currently works and may change as development continues.
3. Accounts and credentials
World100K accounts use an Account Key and may use passkeys. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and devices secure.
World100K does not guarantee account recovery. If you lose access to every valid Account Key and passkey associated with an account, access to that account may be irrecoverable. Recovery options may be added, changed, or removed as the project develops.
Do not use another person's credentials without permission, bypass account restrictions, automate abusive account creation, or interfere with authentication and security controls.
4. Your submissions
Tile entries, names, images, website links, selected profile details, comments, chat messages, and other material supplied through World100K are “Submissions.”
You remain responsible for your Submissions. Only submit material that you created, own, or have permission to use. Do not submit material that is unlawful, malicious, deceptive, threatening, privacy-invasive, or that infringes another person's rights. Do not submit spam, malware, impersonation, or content intended to bypass moderation or security measures.
Submissions must not include graphic violence or gore; nudity, sexual, or adult material; hateful, extremist, racist, or discriminatory material; or sexual, exploitative, abusive, or otherwise harmful material involving minors. Do not submit personal information or an identifiable image of another person without appropriate permission.
If a Submission depicts an identifiable person under 18, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or that you have permission from a person with parental responsibility for them, and that you have the right to make the image public. World100K does not verify family relationships, guardianship, or permissions before publication.
5. Permission to operate the project
You keep any rights you already hold in your Submissions. By submitting material, you give the independent operator of World100K a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, resize, compress, convert, display, and technically adapt that material as reasonably needed to operate, secure, moderate, back up, and present World100K.
This permission does not transfer ownership of your material to World100K. It continues while the material remains part of the project and for any reasonable period needed for backups, security, dispute handling, or compliance with law.
6. Visibility, editing, and removal
Submissions may be displayed publicly. Some features may not offer editing, replacement, or self-service deletion after submission.
World100K does not promise that any tile, account, image, entry, comment, message, or other material will remain available for a particular period. The operator may reject, restrict, hide, modify for technical presentation, unlink, or remove material where reasonably necessary to operate or protect the project, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.
7. Moderation and restrictions
World100K may use automated tools and manual review before or after publication to detect spam, unsafe images or text, repeated submissions, manipulation, and other misuse. These systems may make mistakes and do not guarantee that every prohibited submission will be detected.
The operator may limit features, reject a submission, restrict an account or device, or remove material when reasonably considered necessary. Material involving a person who may be under 18 may be rejected or removed where age, permission, privacy, safety, or legality is uncertain. World100K is not required to pre-screen or actively monitor everything submitted by users.
8. Third-party material and services
World100K may show user-provided links, radio streams, embedded resources, or other material supplied or operated by third parties. World100K does not control or endorse those third parties and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, or practices. Their own terms and privacy rules may apply when you interact with them.
9. Availability and project changes
World100K is experimental and under continuing development. Features may contain errors, change without notice, become unavailable, or be discontinued. The project may be paused or ended, and data or access may be lost.
Because the project is provided free of charge, no compensation is owed for changes, downtime, lost access, removed material, unclaimed or unavailable tiles, account loss, or discontinuation of the project.
10. Disclaimers and responsibility
World100K is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for indirect or unexpected loss arising from use of the project, inability to access it, user Submissions, third-party services, or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11. Privacy
The World100K Privacy Notice explains how the project handles account, device, usage, security, and Submission-related information.
12. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be revised as World100K changes. A revised version will be posted on the Terms page. Material changes may also be identified through the project interface when reasonably appropriate.
